LONDON, May 14 (UPI) — A former friend of late British rock ‘n’ roll icon John Lennon said she is selling his handwritten lyrics to the anti-war anthem “Give Peace a Chance.”
It’s been more than 35 years since comedian George Carlin’s “Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television” performance in Milwaukee famously upheld freedom of speech rights, and still Nashville punks Be Your Own Pet can’t get lyrics like “Eating pizza is really great/So is destroying everything you hate!” past the suits at Universal because they’re get this too violent.
A woman from London is set to make thousands of pounds by selling the lyrics to John Lennon’s classic song Give Peace a Chance.
